Carl R Rogers - American Psychologist

My name is Lorraine. I’ve walked through many of life’s ebbs and flows — challenges, grief, loss, and the everyday shifts that shape who we become. I’ve been married for 30 years and have two adult children who have now flown the nest. Over time, I’ve worn many ‘hats’: daughter, sister, wife, mum, and friend.
I believe deeply in the power of safe, steady relationships. People often describe me as warm, considerate, and easy to talk to — someone who listens with genuine care and without judgment. As a committed Christian, my faith guides me to show up with compassion, integrity, love and hope.
My years as an Education Assistant, along with my service in Christian ministry supporting children, teens, young adults and those with neurodivergence, have given me a rich understanding of different generations and how we relate to one another.
In our sessions, I hold space for you to explore what matters, what hurts, or what feels heavy. We move at your pace, as deeply as you feel comfortable.
Life will hand you lemons, but lemonade isn’t the only possible outcome. Life is a gift — something to be explored, wondered about, and lived fully. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

My approach is gentle, relational, and grounded in emotional safety. I believe people heal best when they feel seen, heard, and supported without pressure or judgment. In our sessions, I honour your story, your nervous system, and the ways you naturally process the world. I draw from trauma‑informed, existential, attachment‑aware, and narrative principles, creating a space where you can explore your experiences with compassion and clarity.

I currently offer online counselling, allowing me to support people across the state and country from the comfort of their own space. Since COVID‑19, many have found telehealth to be highly effective, though it can take a little adjustment if you’re not used to deeper conversations through a screen.
All you need is a device, a steady internet connection, and a space with minimal distractions so you can get the most out of our time together.

My work is shaped by a deep commitment to safety, compassion, and genuine human connection. I value creating a space where people feel respected, understood, and free to be themselves. I believe in kindness, honesty, and walking alongside clients with humility and care. My Christian faith informs the way I show up with hope, integrity, and gentleness, while always honouring each person’s beliefs and background. At the centre of my values is the belief that every person’s story matters — and that healing grows in the context of a trusting, supportive relationship.

I do this work because I care deeply about people and the stories they carry. It means a lot to me to offer a safe, steady space where someone can finally breathe, be honest, and not feel alone. It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they find clarity, healing, and a renewed sense of themselves — as they rediscover their wings and begin to fly again.
